EDUCATE THE ORPHANS

October Update
RESCUE HOUSE

At the start of this year we told you about a harrowing situation in Kenya were hundreds of very young girls (some as young as 13 or 14) had become pregnant from incest, rape or from using their bodies to try to get food.

As a response to this crisis, ETO committed to building a rescue centre to house and protect these vulnerable children.

The building work on the rescue house is now finished, and the house is now being used to
  • Care for
  • Protect
  • Feed
  • House
these young girls.

THANK YOU AGAIN TO OUR GENEROUS DONOR for providing the funds to bulid the house.

The rescue house is being run by a hard working Lady who came to ETO by walking to ETO from rift valley (over 1000 KM) with her four young sons.  She is now working as the matron in the rescue house. Our teachers have pulled together some money to support her, by buying her clothing and bedding (for her and her boys) because they appreciate  the good work she’s doing for the other children

Please pray for them.
ETO SCHOOLS AND NEEDY CHILDREN

All the schools in Kenya are now open again.

We have been told by the Kenyan government that there will be no more shutdowns and that the Children are now NOT allowed to be sent home.  Any Child suspected of having contracted Covid-19 is to be taken out of class and isolated in a separate house.   All school fees therefore now need to be paid to the Government.

Even though there is still a curfew in effect across Kenya (from 10pm to 4am)  we have seen another 20 children walking to ETO during the night with Pastor Paul bringing them to ETO for help (many of whom are refugee children who have been displaced from their home by Boko Haram and have no where else to go).

The need of these children is so great that in Christophers word these children "arrived with no shoes, nothing clothing their fronts and nothing clothing there backs".  Livingstone had commented that 'he had never seen poverty like it'.  Our own orphaned children have been helping these refugees by sharing what little they themselves have, be it clothing bedding or food.

ETOs NEW FARM

Livingstone and the team are now starting the process of securing and fencing the site at an approx cost of £7000.
