EDUCATE THE ORPHANS
JANUARY 2023 UPDATE
|
|
At the start of another New Year ETO would like to thank all our sponsors, prayer supporters and friends for their prayers, encouragement and financial help for what turned out to be another extremely successful year in 2022.
We pray for a blessed and prosperous new year to you all in 2023.

On our last update we informed you of a number of new (and of some ongoing) projects that ETO identified, to try and help some of the poorest and most vulnerable in Kenya. These projects are:
1. Solar driven water pump for Kamathakame school to help grow food for the children. This ETO school educates children in an extremely poor area even by Kenya standards..
2. New Solar powered water pump for Ruungu to help grow crops at our largest school
3. Extension Building to the Rescue house, for Trafficked Kids.
Please continue to pray for these projects, for wisdom and guidance, for God to connect us with the right people with the necessary expertise and for the financial provision required to make these projects happen.
Also please feel free to share our updates with your friends and family via word of mouth or social media.

TESTIMONIES FROM SOME OF THE GIRLS AT OUR RESCUE CENTRE
In April 2021 God provided the means (through one generous donor) for ETO to build a rescue centre to house, support and care for vulnerable and abused young girls (some as young as 9 years old)
These are some of the young girls ETO is currently looking after at the Rescue Centre.
Thank you GOD for this building to support these young children

She had to do her final primary exams while pregnant and did well, but when the baby was born she couldn't return to school. (Came to ETO through the Media)
Prince is 7 Months old
Faith is now back at her studies and Prince is being cared for at the rescue house

Alice (left) and Ann (right)
Alice and Ann are aged 15 & 16 years old.
They had to flee for their lives when they were ambushed at night by Al- Shabab. Neither girl knows where their parents are, or even if they are dead or alive.
These girls had to travel for over 4 days to get to ETO from near the border with Ethiopia, when they arrived only one of the girls was clothed

Elosy (left) & Mercy (right)
Elosy is 14 years old and came to ETO through some Journalists, who knew about our work. She is 1 of 6 siblings. Her father had left them and her relatives wanted her to get married as she is considered grown up.
Mercy is also 14 and was living with her Grandmother as both parents died of HIV. They had nothing, and travelled 30KM to get to ETO with the Grandmother telling us she is giving us the girl to take care off.

During our trip to Kenya in Nov, the ETO team visited our 2 ETO Farms, and are happy to report that both farms are producing well.
The farms have recently been harvested, producing enough to help feed our children, give a tithe to the local church and some to sell at the local market (with the proceeds going back into the work)
We were able to harvest over 30,300 Kgs of Onions, as well as tomatoes, watermelons etc.

The photos below show some of the water melons being harvested and shared with the trafficked children.

When the ETO team visited the Tumaini children's home, we were blown away by the children's welcome.
It was so humbling seeing children who have nothing being so excited and happy just because you came to visit them.

The church service at Kaguma church was full during our visit, with some people having to stand out the front our the church. It was great to see so many in attendance, also to hear the children from Kaguma school singing during the service, they sang a traditional Kenyan song called 'Asante Sana Yesu' which means 'Thank you Jesus'.
